Charles Ayers

Charles Ayers, 77, of Corry, died October 21, 2016, at his residence, after an extended illness. Born December 19, 1938, in Corry, he was the son of the late Claude and Opal (Bates) Ayers and the husband of Roseanne (Lindsey) Ayers.

Charles was a member of the Corry Baptist Church and Corry VFW Post 264. He was a mechanic for Thomas Chevrolet in Corry and Daily Chevrolet in Erie Charles also managed two body shops in Ann Arbor, MI and retired from Thompson Maple Products.

He is survived by a daughter, Susan Radel of Corry; step sons, Robert Swanson of Corry, Donald Swanson and wife, Kimberly, of Erie, Randall Swanson and wife, Katrina, of Erie, and Bradley Swanson and wife, Debbie, of Corry; step daughters, Dixie Anderson and husband, Doug of Corry, Sharon Bartram of Warren, Cathy Van Tassel and husband, Michael, of Riceville, Bonnie Borkowski and husband, Alan, of Denver, CO , and Tammy Brown and husband, Charlie, of Canadohta Lake; sisters, Mildred Green of Corry, Dorothy Portice and husband, George of Corry, Marjorie Sample and husband, William, of Indianapolis, IN, Thelma Jean Portice of Britton, MI; several grandchildren great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Terry Lindsey and Orren Smith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brothers, Claude Ayers, Richard Ayers and William Ayers and a sister, Theresa Smith.

A committal service at graveside will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at West Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, with Sanders Anderson officiating. The Michael S. Pandolph Funeral Home, Union City, is assisting the family with arrangements.
