Mariam L. “Ginger” Stidd, 88, of Union City and formerly of Mt. Jewett, died November 13, 2017, at Corry Manor. Born April 4, 1929, in Bradford, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Edith (Lundstrom) Anderson.
She was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church. Ginger was a member of the Eastern Star, Kinzua Bridge Foundation, American Legion Post 574, and a founding member of the Mt. Jewett Swedish Festival. She loved bowling and was on many area teams. Ginger, along with her late husband, owned the Skyline Gift Shop at Lantz Corners.
She is survived by daughters, Jane Stidd (Nicholas Pisani) of Union City and Amy Sweeney (Garrett Whipkey) of Greensboro, NC; a sister, Bette MacNamara of Annapolis, MD; a daughter-in-law, Frances Stidd of Oakdale; grandchildren, Lewis Pisani, Michael Smith, Thomas Sweeney Jr., Eric Yerdon (Renae), and Tammy Mersing (Bob); great grandchildren, Noah, Taylor, and Dylan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Stidd, a sister, Dolores Smith, a brother, Richard “Ben” Anderson, and long time friend, Bill Shaffer.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Mt. Jewett, at 1 p.m.with Rev. Theodore Benson officiating.
Inturment will be in Mt. Nebo Cemetery, Mt. Jewett.
