James Higley Obituary

James L. Higley, 34, of Union City passed away 04/08/2021, Thursday afternoon after a tragic car accident. He was a loved son, father, brother, and an uncle. James lived his life on his own terms always and had a great passion for all genres of music, especially 80's rock. He loved to relax by playing VR games on his Playstation and jamming to his music. James was so devoted to his music that he originated a website called “Music Therapy” along with his longtime love, Randi Cook. His children Lynzee and Ethyn were the light of his life and he was so very proud to be their father. He was also very proud of being a Higley and dearly loved his father and mother. He cared for his father during his battle with pancreatic cancer and after he passed James cared for his mother as he made this promise to his father. James had a multitude of friends who for the most part loved calling him “Higley” and he was always willing to help any of his friends and family in anyway and at anytime of the day or night. He is survived by his mother Diane L. Higley of Union City, his two children Ethyn James and Lynzee Skye, and his wife and best friend Randi Cook. In addition, he is survived by his sisters Stacey Southworth and husband, Kirk, of Columbus and Brande Luebbert and husband, Ryan, of Union City, his brother Tristan Southworth of Utah along with his nieces Alyssa Sandberg of Lake City, Kendra Fitch of Union City, a nephew Tanis Langton of Union City and one great nephew Alex Sandberg; several aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his father Duane V. Higley, his brother Duane A. Higley Jr., as well as his uncle “Butch” Robert Dominguez. James was very loved and will be very missed by all who knew him.

Family and friends will be received at the Community Bible Church, Union City from 2pm until the hour of service at 4pm on Tuesday April 13, 2021 with Chad Capella officiating.
