Dear Charlie,
It's hard to believe you're gone, you were a Dad a Mentor and a Friend, to me. Thank you for listening and giving good advise. Thank you for being such a wonderful Grandpa and Dad to Gary, there is a huge void knowing we can't just pick up the phone and call. And thank you for all the care you provided to Mom. One of the last conversations you and I had was that Mom is still your beautiful bride. Please continue to give divine intervention, as needed.

Charles' mother (Aunt Opel) was my fathers' (Cecil Bates) sister. I regret that I did not know any of my cousins, that well. Marjorie would be the only one since she lived in Knoxville, TN when I was in Kingsport, Tn and we were able to visit several times. I am thinking of you all. To Charles family: Psalm 116:15. Thank you, my cousin, for your service to our country.
